Gutter cleaning and brightening in the Oklahoma City metro
Gutters are two jobs wearing one name. The inside needs clearing so water goes where it should; the outside needs brightening to lift the dark tiger stripes that a normal rinse won't touch. We do either, or both in one visit.

In this part of Oklahoma the usual culprits are cottonwood fluff, elm seeds, spring pollen and the grit that asphalt shingles shed. All of it packs down into a mat that holds water against the fascia long after the rain stops.
An overflowing gutter doesn't just spill — it dumps sheet runoff against your foundation and splashes mud up your siding. Most "mystery" siding stains a few feet up a wall started as a clogged gutter above them.
How we do it
Interior clearing is hand and tool work: debris scooped and bagged rather than blasted into the yard, then every run flushed with water and every downspout confirmed flowing before we leave.
Brightening is chemistry, not pressure. The stripes on gutter faces are oxidation and shingle residue bonded to the aluminum, and pressure alone either leaves them or scars the finish getting them. A gutter-brightening cleaner gets applied, worked, and rinsed, the same low-pressure logic as siding.
Timing tip we give everyone: book the interior clear after the spring seed drop is finished, and again after the leaves come down if you're under trees.

Gutter work is priced by the job: the length of the runs, one story or two, whether guards are installed, and whether you want the inside, the outside or both. We give you a firm price after seeing the house, and that's the number you pay.
Gutter questions, answered straight
What are the dark stripes on the outside of my gutters?
The trade calls those vertical marks tiger stripes. They're electrostatically bonded grime: oxidized aluminum, asphalt residue from the shingles and pollutants that rainwater has pulled over the gutter lip. They don't come off with a rinse or plain pressure; they need a gutter-brightening cleaner applied and worked before the rinse.
Is clearing the inside a separate job from cleaning the outside?
They're two different jobs and you can book either or both. Interior clearing removes the leaves, shingle grit and seed debris so water actually flows to the downspouts. Exterior brightening removes the staining on the faces you see from the street. Most people booking a whole-house wash do both at once.
How often should gutters be cleared in Oklahoma?
For most metro homes, once or twice a year: after the spring seed and pollen drop, and again after fall leaf drop if the house sits under trees. Homes with cottonwoods or elms overhead fill gutters noticeably faster and may need a mid-season clear.
Do you check the downspouts too?
We do. A cleared gutter with a blocked downspout still overflows. Every downspout gets flushed and confirmed flowing before we call the job done, and if one is blocked beyond flushing we tell you exactly which one and where.
Can you clean gutters that have gutter guards?
Usually, but it depends on the guard. Some lift out for cleaning and go back; others are screwed down and add time; a few trap enough grit underneath that they're doing more harm than good. We look at what's installed during the estimate and quote it honestly.
